Roots & Reins:
4 Day Therapeutic Horseback Journey for Young Women
June 22–25, 2026 | $2,200
Roots & Reins is a 4-day immersive therapeutic retreat designed for young women ages 18-26 ready to step out of stuck patterns and into deeper self-trust, responsibility, and embodied confidence. Set in the countryside of Michigan and guided by experienced therapists and equine specialists, this journey blends horseback riding, therapy, and intentional wilderness living.
Over four days, participants will travel up to 10 miles per day on horseback, care for their horses, share responsibility for camp life, and engage in daily therapeutic circles. Horses act as powerful mirrors—offering immediate, honest feedback about presence, boundaries, leadership, and emotional regulation. The work unfolds not through fixing or forcing, but through relationships: with self, with horse, and with the group.
Each day carries a distinct therapeutic arc:
Arrival & Connection — meeting the horses, settling into camp, and noticing what is alive at the start of the journey
Responsibility & Trust — taking ownership, building confidence, and learning to rely on self and others
The Hard Middle — meeting self-doubt, practicing leadership, and staying present through challenge
Integration & Closure — honoring growth, gathering insight, and preparing to carry the work home
This retreat is physically engaging, emotionally deep, and relational at its core. Participants should expect long days outdoors and camping overnight, shared responsibility, honest reflection, and meaningful connection—with plenty of support along the way.
